Evolution of second-order cosmological perturbations
We present a method for constructing gauge-invariant cosmological perturbations which are gaugeinvariant up to second order. As an example we give the gauge-invariant definition of the second order curvature perturbation on uniform density hypersurfaces. Using only the energy conservation equation we show that this curvature perturbation is conserved at second order on large scales for adiabati...
متن کاملFirst and Second Order Perturbations of Hypersurfaces
In this paper we find the first and second order perturbations of the induced metric and the extrinsic curvature of a non-degenerate hypersurface Σ in a spacetime (M, g), when the metric g is perturbed arbitrarily to second order and the hypersurface itself is allowed to change perturbatively (i.e. to move within spacetime) also to second order. The results are fully general and hold in arbitra...
متن کاملSecond Order Gauge-Invariant Perturbations during Inflation
The evolution of gauge invariant second-order scalar perturbations in a general single field inflationary scenario are presented. Different second order gauge invariant expressions for the curvature are considered. We evaluate perturbatively one of these second order curvature fluctuations and a second order gauge invariant scalar field fluctuation during the slow-roll stage of a massive chaoti...
متن کاملDiagnosing Manufacturing Variation Using Second-Order and Fourth-Order Statistics
This article discusses a method that can aid in diagnosing root causes of product and process variability in complex manufacturing processes, when large amounts of multivariate in-process measurement data are available. A linear structured model, similar to the standard factor analysis model, is used to generically represent the variation patterns that result from the root causes. Blind source ...
متن کاملTHIRD-ORDER AND FOURTH-ORDER ITERATIVE METHODS FREE FROM SECOND DERIVATIVE FOR FINDING MULTIPLE ROOTS OF NONLINEAR EQUATIONS
In this paper, we present two new families of third-order and fourth-order methods for finding multiple roots of nonlinear equations. Each of them requires one evaluation of the function and two of its first derivative per iteration. Several numerical examples are given to illustrate the performance of the presented methods.
